To establish a reliable county-wide network, Muran Systems undertook a comprehensive survey of over 60 primary schools across Nairobi. The primary goal was to ensure the environmental suitability and long-term effectiveness of the monitoring project.
Key Activities Included:
Collaborative Scouting: Working in close coordination with the Nairobi County Government to align with municipal health goals.
Strategic Mapping: Identifying 45 optimal locations from a pool of 60+ candidates to ensure a representative data map of the county.
Vulnerability Focus: Prioritizing schools to capture data where children—a high-risk demographic—spend the majority of their time.
Technical Assessment: Evaluating each site for security, structural integrity for mounting, and unobstructed airflow for sensor accuracy.
“The site survey was a critical first step. By collaborating closely with the Nairobi County government, we ensured that every sensor was placed where it could provide the most impactful data for the community's health.”
